Myrbetriq (mirabegron) is a urinary antispasmodic approved to treat adults with overactive bladder (OAB). This medication relaxes the muscles in the bladder, which helps to reduce bladder spasms. Mirabegron can improve symptoms such as urgent urination and incontinence. In children with neurogenic detrusor overactivity (NDO), Myrbetriq may also be used. In children, Myrbetriq tablets may only be used for those at least three years old. Mirabegron is known to cause a condition called angioedema, which causes swelling and can be fatal. • Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew mirabegron
• Adults may take mirabegron with or without food, but children should always take the tablet with food
• Monitor blood pressure often
• Inform your doctor if symptoms do not improve
• Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat

Do not use Myrbetriq if you have:

• Severe renal failure or kidney disease
• High blood pressure that causes symptoms such as severe chest pain, headache, seizures, or shortness of breath

• Dry mouth

Myrbetriq may cause severe side effects that require medical assistance. Severe side effects of mirabegron may include.

• Blurred vision
• Severe headache
• Pounding feeling behind the neck and ears
• Symptoms of a hypertensive crisis (nausea, vomiting, anxiety, chest pain)
• Pain or burning during urination

How long does Myrbetriq stay in your system?

When will Myrbetriq start to work?

Myrbetriq will begin to relax the muscles surrounding the bladder within 3 to 4 hours. Because this is a long-term treatment medication, it may not be until 4 to 8 weeks into your treatment that you begin to notice significant improvements to your symptoms.
